10 reviews for Ariat Coniston Pro GTX Insulated- Winter Horseback Riding Boot

  1. Marie555

The best riding boots for the cold winter in Canada .I love them
I wear them everyday at the barn or horseback riding ( English or western)

  2. Brigit

These are the first boots I’ve had that actually seem to be as waterproof as they say, plus keep my toes warm at reasonably cold temps (didn’t have an issue until about 2 degrees and I wasn’t wearing a double layer of socks as usual). They’re amazingly beautiful and functional, and hope to have them for many years!
I could have probably gone a full size up for extra sock layers but the half size up I chose works well enough.

  3. Morgan B

I have worn these often. They are comfortable for hours on horseback or just walking around. They are a favorite choice of mine.

  4. Carolinaprof

I have worn these on cold days, on muddy footing, on the ground, and while riding. They are well-made and have great insulation from bottom to top. The zipper on the boot does not come below the ankle and the boot came with a long shoe horn. I was worried that I would not be able to get my stiff right ankle into the boot because it does not bend. The ability to loosen the laces and the shoe horn made it easy. Once I discovered the tab inside the boot behind the ankle that lets you pull the boot on, just as you would any ankle-high boot, I no longer needed the shoe horn. The boot lacings adapt to my wider left knee and inflexible right ankle. And they are very comfortable to walk in. I will miss wearing them when the weather gets warmer. The sizing is similar to other Ariat boots.

  5. SaraAndLewie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this boot for chores and for riding. It’s warm, the elastic laces make for a perfect fit no matter what pants/sock combo you’re wearing. The Ariat footbed is super comfortable for all day on your feet with chores. Tall enough and not bulky make it great for riding. I still have a great feel, even for jumping. Waterproof up to the laces and clean up back to looking new. I sized up to wear with average thickness (not bulky) wool socks.

  6. BritHF

Love these boots but the zippers come down while riding (I ride Dressage)
Also would love a taller option

  7. Dreambeast

I’ve had a total of 5 surgeries on my foot and had to throw away and replace most of my shoes and boots. I bought these Ariat boots thinking I would probably have to return them, but the muck boots I was wearing to the barn gave me little to no support. I decided to try these Ariat boots since they’re beautiful and two of my friends love theirs. I bought a half size larger than my usual size since a roomy toe box is a must. The boots were comfortable from the moment I put them on. And my foot doesn’t hurt after a day at the barn

  8. Britz

The zippers come 1/2 way down constantly while schooling horses. If the zippers would just stay up I would buy again… but may need to look at other winter riding boots…
Otherwise I love them!!! Darn zippers!!

  9. Maggie

I have had these for about a year and they have been really warm and comfortable. the leather and footbed has held up really well. The downside is the zipper at the top needs a leather tab or something as the zipper will start to slide down. This happened to a friend as well who has the same boots so I know its not just my pair. They are nice enough I may take to a cobbler to see if they can add a fastener or something, but it’s a bit dangerous the way it is right now, the other day I realized midway through a jump course my boot was nearly all the way unzipped! If they could fix the zipper issue these boots would be perfect

I have had a pair of Ariat Coniston’s for 3 winters now. I absolutely love the fit and comfort of these boots. The sizing is accurate and has been great for my narrow feet with some good get insoles. The zipper and lacing loops are working as new after many, many a ride. My only issue with the boots is that the leather is hard to polish to a good looking finish; they always look a bit scruffy with a dull finish. That said, if you are looking for a warm pair of boots for daily riding, trail hiking, and generally working around the barn, then these boots are just what you need. I love mine and hope they last for many more years.
