Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Should I get a fly mask with or without ears?
A: Masks with ears—like the Crusader™—offer vital protection for sensitive ear tissue, especially in wooded or brush‑filled pastures.

Q: How long can my horse wear this mask each day?
A: Safe for multi‑hour turnout, training, or rest. Remove daily to clean and inspect for rubs or debris.

Q: Can a horse see clearly with the Crusader™ on?
A: Yes—precision‑woven micro‑mesh ensures excellent forward vision while keeping out insects.

Q: Is this mask machine‑washable?
A: Absolutely. Use a cold, gentle cycle and hang to dry. Avoid bleach and fabric softeners to preserve mesh integrity.

Q: Can I leave the fly mask on overnight or in the rain?
A: Yes—once properly fitted, it’s safe to leave on overnight or through light rain. Always check daily for fit and cleanliness.

This standard fly mask with ears fits well! The velcro closure is very secure and easy to use. Love the mesh ear coverage for keeping the gnats out.

  2. Anonymous

These fly masks are comfortable for the horses, fit securely, and last more than one fly season. They can last even longer if the wearer doesn’t ditch it out in the pasture every other day. I prefer the style with ears because one of my horses has aural plaques, an autoimmune response thought to be triggered by fly bites, and I don’t want it spreading to the other horse.
