Description

Factrel (Gonadorelin) Injection for Cattle

Factrel delivers a precise dose of gonadorelin acetate (GnRH) to synchronize estrus and induce ovulation in beef and dairy herds. By triggering a controlled LH surge, Factrel helps you implement fixed‑time artificial insemination (FTAI) protocols, reduce breeding variability, and boost overall pregnancy rates.

Key Benefits of Factrel

  • Estrus Synchronization: Precisely times follicular maturation and ovulation when used in conjunction with prostaglandin‑based protocols (e.g., Ovsynch).

  • Improved Conception Rates: Consistent induction of ovulation reduces missed heats and increases first‑service success.

  • Simplified Breeding Management: Enables fixed‑time AI without the need for heat detection, saving labor and reducing stress on animals.

  • Versatile Dosing: Effective in heifers, cows, and even repeat breeders to jump‑start a new follicular wave.

How Factrel Works

Gonadorelin acetate mimics the cow’s natural GnRH pulse from the hypothalamus, stimulating the anterior pituitary to release luteinizing hormone (LH). This LH surge causes ovulation of a dominant follicle approximately 28–32 hours post‑injection, synchronizing the herd’s reproductive cycle.

Administration & Dosage

  1. Protocol Integration: Incorporate into FTAI schedules (e.g., Day 0 GnRH, Day 7 PGF₂α, Day 9 GnRH + AI).

  2. Dose: 100 μg (2 mL) intramuscularly per animal.

  3. Storage: Refrigerate at 2–8 °C (36–46 °F). Do not freeze.

  4. Handling: Gently invert before use. Discard if discoloration or particulate matter appears.

Safety and Compliance

  • For Veterinary Use Only: Not for human consumption.

  • Withdrawal Time: Observe labeled milk and meat withdrawal intervals.

  • California Prop 65: This product may expose you to chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. Visit P65 Warnings.

3 reviews for Factrel (Gonadorelin) Injection

  1. DairyFarmDad84

Helped boost conception rates in our herd.
We’ve been running a timed program on our Holsteins and added Factrel alongside Lutalyse, just like the vet recommended. The conception rates have gone up compared to the old protocol. Super easy to administer, and I appreciate that it comes in smaller bottles that don’t go to waste. Definitely a valuable tool for herd reproduction.

  2. AnjusRancherTX

    Made timed breeding much smoother.
Our Angus herd tends to calve late without good synchronization. Using Factrel as part of the program has really tightened up our calving window. Calves are hitting the ground earlier, and the uniformity is obvious. Highly recommend for anyone serious about herd management.

  3. SmallHerdKeeper090

Works, but not cost-effective for small herds.
Factrel definitely does what it claims, and our vet guided us through using it with Lutalyse. That said, with only a handful of cows, the vial expired before we used it all. Great product, just not always practical for small-scale operations.
