My farrier suggested I try a new hoof supplement due to some white line changes she attributed to a nutritional deficiency. After using this product for 8 weeks the slight separation that had begun had gone away and his feet look great.

I have been using this for about 6 months on one horse. His cracks have improved. The base of the hoof is still chipping a bit, but he has not been on it long enough for the hoof to grow out that far.

My horse seems to like the taste of the Hooflex pellets. Since he is barefoot, I’m hopeful this supplement will help keep his hooves strong.

Just purchased this supplement so I can’t speak to its effectiveness yet. I bought the 11lb bag to give to my two TBs. One ate it no questions asked, the other refused to eat his grain and spit the supplement out. Good thing the one who ate it needs it most! I think the slightly fishy smell was a turn off for my pickier eater.

One month of use has made a drastic improvement! My horse is a thoroughbred, with the classic thoroughbred hooves. After the rainy summer, he was consistently throwing shoes due to brittle hooves drying out from the mud. Each shoeing, I would know it was coming, not because I could see hoof growth (I never saw any), but because he would have loose shoes or would throw one in the field or ring. Two farriers recommended finding the supplement with the highest biotin and zinc I could find. After speaking to a Smartpak expert, who really went through all the factors with me! I chose this because it was really concentrated. It has made such a difference! He has been on it for one month, I SEE hoof growth. His hooves are no longer brittle and crumbling, but appear strong and solid! The farrier is very happy with the results. His coat and overall appearance also look better than ever! I’m so pleased. We did have to change around turnout and lower his grain due to more energy on the supplement, but after adjusting down, he is back to normal. Couldn’t be happier!

My boy has struggled with soft soles and white line. His soles are so hard now that the hoof knife could barely cut them when it used to be like butter. My personal experience is that adding iodine to the diet is the key. Hooflex has the perfect medium with all of its ingredients when adding to fortified feed.

I have a TB mare who has historically had foot problems; our vet recommended giving her as much biotin as I could find in a supplement. This product had the highest by far, so it’s what I went with, starting her on it about a year ago.
I have to say, the difference in her feet is remarkable! It has really helped her grow out good heels and bars. Added bonus: her mane and tail have also gotten more thick and lush.
I just wish it came in smartpaks!
