I have now had this saddle for about a month. Years ago I joined the tree-less movement and bought a high quality western tree-less saddle. Well the popular saying is that once you go tree-less it is hard to go back. Your horse now understands what real comfort is. I find that saying to be true. When I wanted to switch back to English I couldn’t find a well reviewed tree-less English saddle. Thus the buying frenzy of English saddles (online of course) began. Needless to say in total I spent about 5-6 thousand dollars on saddles that were a close fit but not quite. My horse had a wonderful way of telling me he hated his new saddles by bucking, rearing, or just refusing to move forward. I have a 15.3 polish Arab. In the withers he is built like an Arab…kind of. His back is built like QH, and his butt is built like a Morgan. Wonderful horse to look at but VERY hard to fit! So after returning all of the useless saddles I waited about a year, mostly out of defeat. Then I saw this saddle on SmartPak. I looked at just about every online review, and every YouTube video in existence. Thus I finally pulled the trigger and got a saddle on SmartPak’s trial experience. The saddle was on my door step 48 hrs later! Unfortunately for me I did not anticipate such an early arrival, and my horse was having his chiropractic work the same day it arrived. My Chiropractor told me to not ride for 48 hrs, and only light work for another 48 hrs. Considering I have excellent listening skills, I tried it that night! HOLY COW! My horse had a sore back from the body work but still did awesome! No bucking, rearing, or refusal to move. He was happy! I tried the saddle again a couple of days later…and still he was happy! I immediately called customer support and told them I was keeping the test ride saddle. They must have thought I was crazy, but I refuse to give it up! It was in excellent condition and didn’t even look used. Plus I was afraid if a switch saddles, I would be giving up that one “magic” saddle that actually worked! I love this saddle, and anyone with a hard to fit horse is going to love it to. I wish I had found it sooner!

I bought this saddle a month ago & just got back from our first 2 day show in it. I have been a primarily western rider and needed an English saddle I felt a little more secure in for hunter under saddle classes on my green horse. I always felt insecure in my slippery collegiate. I adore this saddle! Extremely comfortable right out of the box with no break in time. I appreciate the wide seat and non-slippery leather. I felt extremely confident & secure in this saddle from day one. This saddle has really helped boost my confidence & enjoyment of English riding. The only aspect of this saddle I wouldn’t give 5 stars too are the billet straps. They are a stiff, thick leather that are difficult to use even after conditioning.

I liked the look and feel of the saddle straight out of the box. However, my leathers were nearly impossible to attach (took a really long time), and it doesn’t sit on my horse right – I would have needed a riser. I much prefer buying a saddle that fits the horse without having to make do by adding extra padding or whatever to make it fit the horse. When sitting in the saddle, it was slippery to me and I could never find the “sweet spot” in the saddle – I kept flopping around trying to find a secure seat, to no avail.

I was having a hard time finding a saddle that fit my new rescue TB, the adjust tree made it so much easier. The saddle is beautiful and so comfortable. I was very happy with the service smartpak offered and made purchasing this saddle so much easier. Worth every penny!

I purchased this saddle almost a year ago and it has been very nice! The little strip of leather will take some a couple rides to get used to but you don’t even feel it after a few rides. It’s a little stiff and yes I do clean and condition often. It just won’t soften up but it’s comfortable and of course will fit any kind of horse I want it to. And just a heads up to some of you guys looking at saddles with Genesis, these saddles are a lot heavier due to the steel and beechwood reinforced tree so just be aware!

My mare is a hard fit for saddles. She has huge wide shoulders that normal wide tree saddles cant even handle. The Genesis system in these Toulouse saddles is so amazing. It literally takes 1 minutes to adjust the saddle and its great because your horse changes so much being in/out of work. I couldnt decide between the Dennise and the Annice so thanks to the Smart Pak Test Ride system, I took both out on trial. I had a hard time choosing but I did choose the Annice. Its more forward flap gave me a better seat and I like the adjustable thigh blocks. My biggest issue with the Denisse is that it gave me a ‘chair position’ type of seat that I just couldn’t get out of. The saddle was very comfortable but just beware of your seat position!

Bought this saddle based on prior riding experience on a different toulouse saddle when taking lessons. Love the Genesis system easy to adjust for different horses.
The leather is nice on the saddle and comfortable to ride in.

however, pommel too high, makes the cantle too low, sat saddle on two horses, rode saddle on one horse. Cant post to a trot. Sadly returned the saddle.

Tried it on my horse, the seat was wayyyy too deep for him and would’ve put so much pressure on his back that my trainer would even let me put saddle pads on. Too bad though, the saddle is really nice. If it fits your horse, I’d definitely recommend it. The seat seemed really deep which I prefer but my horse didn’t 🙁
