I tried this saddle because it has a lot of the features I was looking for my hard-to-fit horse. Front and rear gussets, made for high withers, etc. but upon taking it out of the box, I could tell it wasn’t going to work at all. The rear panels are ridiculously thick–4″ and while it may be called a “high wither” saddle, it felt like heighth came from having a high pommel and not necessarily more curved rails. Since the horse I got it for is super sensitive, I tried it first on another horse with a similar build just to see if I liked how it felt. Because the panels are so thick, I felt like I was sitting on a booster seat; there was no sense of contact with the horse at all. Also, one of the stirrup bars was recessed much more than the other making it extremely difficult to get the leather on, and the skirt, while soft and pliable and somewhat grippy, felt like it might be synthetic.
