10 reviews for Eliza Thinsulate™ Field Boot

I haven’t had them long enough to comment on durability, but they look durable. The soles are fairly thick, thicker than my Ariats, but look fine and feel comfortable. The inner calf is suede, I was not expecting that but I like it. I would not say the lining will keep you warm in the coldest of situations, but it does add warmth and probably helps by about 10-20 degrees. I typically wear a 9.5 but bought a 10 to add winter socks. I would say they run slightly longer in the foot than the Ariat Heritage. I wear an X-Wide calf in those boots and they require some break in time, these boots might run a half-inch wider. I could zip them up easily as soon as I put heel lifts in and I think they will accommodate thicker socks and breeches. They might be slightly less attractive than the Ariat, but to me they still look good. For the price, I had to keep them.

  2. TeddyJohn

Great looking , not bulky yet warm , extremely comfortable . I bought the Eliza Dress boot in the summer and was very pleased with the fit and comfort , so I bought the Thinsulate version for winter and have been very pleased with how warm they are with out the bulk of most winter boots .

  3. Shalom

The boots are perfect they are thin and light for closer contact.

  4. Winter Girl

I bought these last month, and I could not believe how beautiful they are for the price! They fit me perfectly right out of the box. The back zipper makes getting in and out of them so easy. I bought a size 9 regular calf, and it was perfect for me. I have very thin, long legs however, so the calf might be narrow for a more average figure. What I especially like is that the boot is tall, and fits me correctly as a hunt boot should. For reference, I am 5’8″ and 140. I never expected to find a boot like this for such a reasonable price! And the fact that I purchased them during a sale was even better!

  5. Nikki

i’ve had these a few months now and they’ve been a life saver this winter. it gets super cold here and usually my toes feel like they’re breaking every time i dismount. decided to try these this year & it’s been a life changing difference. yes, my feet still feel cold sometimes, but i can still feel my toes by the end of my ride so i’ll call it a win. only complaint is that the snaps tend to come undone pretty easily but it DOES seem like it’s getting better the more i break them in

  6. Margie L

I was very pleasantly surprised when I took these out of the box. They look like a much more expensive leather boot. The foot fits me true to size. (6) The ankle area is a bit more tapered than I prefer for a winter boot. It still zipped up OK though. I do like to wear wool socks on really cold days so hopefully they will stretch a little as they’re worn.
The suede inner calf is OK. Not sure why it is there though. I feel plain leather throughout would make cleaning and maintaining these much easier. Now I have to use a suede brush after each ride. Kind of an annoying factor, but oh well.
All in all they are very comfy, well made and seem warm enough so far. I give them a thumbs up!

  7. NE Rider

I bought these a few weeks ago for riding in New England winter, and absolutely love them. They are true to size, very comfortable to walk around and ride in. I even like the suede calf. My legs feel completely secure riding my spicy TB mare in them, yet they aren’t bulky. I might buy a second pair!

  8. Amik

These boots are amazing! I have Raynaud’s so my toes need to be kept warm. These have kept me comfortable riding in the 20s and 30s. I ordered the 8 wide calf. I am 5’3″ and order an 8 wide calf in Ariat boots as well, which fit snugly. With these, I have a little room to spare for thicker socks (which I don’t have with Ariats). They were a little tall well I got them, but they have shrunk down as other boots do (I wasn’t sure they still would with the insulation). They feel like completely normal boots when you’re riding.

  9. Kaitie

I bought these about 3 months ago and wore them maybe 10 times max (was rehabbing my horse so barely rode) and the snap on the back of the boot already broke off. i was super bummed because I had finally gotten them broken in (which was painful but expected given they’re winter boots!) and having them break so quickly was a little wild. Purchasing a snap repair kit was still less expensive than buying the Ariat version of these (which I used to have), but I wish they held up better since they were a really nice alternative at the start. I would probably not repurchase.

  10. Gwen

I’ve ridden in them once so far and I like them. They aren’t crazy warm, but the calf is nicely insulated. The toe box feels large to me, which leaves room for a thicker sock and a toe warmer. The zippers are high quality and the boot is good looking.
